The new Facebook Photo Viewer has been optimized to utilize the free vertical space around the Picture and ease user interaction.The comments and ads which were below the photo and user have to scroll to post comments have been moved towards the right of photo.
This is quite similar to image viewer of Google +.However if you are still not impressed by the improvements then you can easily switch back to Facebook classic photo viewer.The Photo automatically adjusts itself according to to your computer screen and its own resolution to accommodate comments and ads.
